Rescue Stories Manna/ Colleen

Manna, now Colleen, was pulled from a shelter in Central Florida by one of the many rescue groups that we network with. She had a horrible case of mange, eye infections and was terribly thin.

Colleen needed to be shaved to let her sore skin heal. She was lovingly nursed back to health by our wonderful SW Florida coordinator, Joyce. Of course, she fell in love with this gentle girl and adopted her. Her mange will need life long  care which Joyce is more than happy to supply to this joyous young lady.

These are Colleens ‘brothers’.
Silver was pulled from a SW shelter, Skippy, returned to a very responsible breeder whom we assisted in placing (with a large donation made to rescue), and Colleen!! They are full of life and play all day  long.....! Joyce adopted them ALL!!

“It brought tears to my eyes, to think how far this little girl has come.  And to think she might have been PTS -  I can't even imagine how sad that would have been.  I love this little girl so much. And I love the others too in their own special way, but Manna/Colleen just brings me so much joy.  She's clever, funny, silly, mischievous, and always ready to play.  She has gone from a scared, timid, shy, little girl to a confident, "princess" status.  She prances around so proudly with her tail up in the air,  always on the alert for something to bark at, particularly golf carts and anything on wheels.  She has helped filled a tremendous void left by my Casey girl who was with me for 11 1/2 years.  Although I still think of Casey and miss her a lot,  I get a great deal of pleasure from Manna/Colleen and her companions.”
