BENJI was rescued from the streets of Miami by a vet tech (LUCKY Benji) He had a broken leg which her boss graciously set. After recuperation we placed him with a lovely family in Broward County
Reiki, the collie, had been dumped at a shelter upstate and eventually adopted by a loving new Mom. Willa almost did not make it out of the shelter. As a collie mix, and born with a deformed front leg she was not high on the adoptable list. Everyone looked at the leg and walked past her cage. They didn’t even bother to get to know her amazing disposition. We send over one of our many ‘ambassadors’ who saw past the leg and into her eyes.
Reiki’s Mom fostered her until she was feeling better.  A friends fell in love with Willa’s sweet nature. Willa and Reiki now have lots of play dates!

MAGGIE, 2 years ago after several months in bondage. She still had her fur then, matts and all.

MAGGIE is one of our most difficult, heart breaking cases. She was deposited at a so-called rescuer over 2 years ago because although she is a great dog who she didn’t do well with very small children. Arthur went over back then and really wanted to adopt her. But by that time she was a MESS. Unfortunately he did not adopt her THEN. For two years we tried very hard to make contact with the rescuer... to NO avail. In the meantime Arthur got a puppy. Last fall an opportunity arose for us to get Maggie.  By now we figured we were dealing with a hoarder. She had 27 dogs in crates in a shanty and was being evicted. The authorities were little to NO help. I finally contacted ‘Arthur’ again and enlisted his help to “adopt” her. Since the hoarder already knew him, we hoped she would let him ‘adopt’.  It took several weeks and many more broken appointments,
BUT WE GOT MAGGIE OUT OF BONDAGE!!!
MAGGIE will need MANY months and a lot of money to help her regain even a part of her old self. Due to total neglect by the ‘rescuer’, she lost most of her teeth, has gum disease, the hoarder shaved her rather than groom her, has a skin condition and after many weeks of treatment can finally hold in her urine.
DAD (Arthur adopted her for real!!) and Dr. C are working with her to help her trust people again.
Can’t get better than this!!!
